Requirements for Logos
KF has the capability to etch your logo on most of our products. We also require high-resolution artwork of photos for engraving on our blades and tools. If you are sending us a photo document for your project, please read the following:
- EPS or PDF vector files in black and white, with no color, grey, or shading are preferred. JPG, PNG, or TIFF files can be submitted if vector files are not available.
- Logo font size may need to be adjusted when logo size is reduced to fit on the engraving area.
- Detailed logos may need to be simplified prior to engraving.
- Special requests, logo design, or custom artwork may have additional set-up costs.
Common Issues to Avoid
- Small Text: For best results, text should be no smaller than 0.35” in height and should have a minimum thickness of 0.07”.
- Details and Fine Lines: Fine lines and small details do not always work well. Some fine lines and small details will be eliminated or made thicker to create a better product.
- Artworks: Low-resolution images or images with gradient colors can’t be used for laser engraving.
